The whole Bible contains timely words for every season in your life. Some of our favorite verses may change as we transition from one season of life into another. 10. Psalm 91

Kicking things off in the book of Psalms. We know this is about verses specifically however we can not forget the importance of this entire chapter brought to us in Psalm 91. “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2) I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress my God in whom I trust.’ 3) Surely he will save you from the gowler’s snare and grom the deadly pestilence. 4) He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. 5) You will not fear the terror of the night nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.” What a mighty feeling and security He gives us! 9. Isaiah 26:3

This verse is next on our list following Psalm 91 in our favorite verses because of the similarities to what the world is currently facing today. Isaiah delivers us a word of encouragement for each and every believer, reminding us all that the only way to maintain peace during our storms is to stay focused on the goal which is on God. 8. Deuteronomy 28:7

“The Lord will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you in one direction but flee from seven.” The fifth book of the Old Testament brings us to the end of Moses' writings. The verse in this chapter reminds believers of the great promises which await each and every one of us if we honor our end of the deal. Because God never fails as you read over this verse, we see Moses is teaching us, believers are reminded they walk in the light of great promises according to the Abrahamic seed they will have after salvation. This is a great scripture to meditate on even when situations around us speak otherwise. Reading and understanding this verse will help you develop a deeper understanding of your true identity in Christ and claim the promises made to us in this scripture.  

7. Psalm 23:1

One of the more popular Psalms of all time. Psalms 23 reminds us  It is a declaration of the rest that a believer enters into because they have God. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Imagine waking up to this gentle reminder daily. As we meditate on the word, we are reborn each day anew knowing we are to lack nothing when we are in Christ. Open your word and read over this entire chapter to remember the promises sent from God to us. The rest of the chapter goes on to talk about goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives.    

6. Malachi 3:10

Our next verse stemming from Malachi is for the real, pure and genuine Christian giver. What is the use of tithing your money or offerings to God? Malachi teaches us about the importance of returning the gifts present to us. “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” We are called to share whatever we have with the world, not just money. This verse is one of the few where God asks us to try Him through our giving. Investing in kingdom affairs is the best kind of venture a believer can do.  

5. 1 Corinthians 13:13

As a Christian, our principles lie in this scripture’s specific teaching, centered around one word: love. The phrase in this verse, ‘faith, hope, love’ is common in the world but how many of us are truly living out these principles daily? As the Apostle Paul writes, “So now faith, hope and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” However love is not weighed heavier than faith and hope. The three attributes are actually listed to be equally reinforcing. It is loved by many and definitely qualifies for the favorite Bible verses. As you go about during your day, think about how many times you are faced with different degrees of spiritual warfare? What does it look like? Do you show love or hate during these times? Can you show love more instead of being quick to anger?  

4. Jeremiah 29:11

Rounding off our next favorite verse, we learn God has a plan for each and every one of us who believes. Believers can get carried away by life’s circumstances and we may tend to forget or stray away from what God’s heart is intended towards us. “For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This verse reminds us where God’s heart is towards us regardless of where we are at any given moment. As you face uncertainty or trying times, remember and meditate on this verse and know that your life is on purpose and each step is already prewritten and destined. You are just living in it.  

3. Romans 12:2

Ask yourself this question: are you living your best life? If you want to refresh and rewire your brain to think so, then flip open your Bible to Romans 12:2 for the reminder you need. Re-shift your focus and clear your mind knowing that God is the same and his promises are still intact. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Our mind renewal requires consistency and frequency. Paul is teaching us in this verse to not be tempted with the world and give in to the desires of our flesh but rather to keep our eyes on Him and his Word. Paul is encouraging us to stray away from the pleasures of the world and instead realign ourselves to His word.  

2. Philippians 4:8

Speaking of renewing your mind, rounding off the top two favorite verses, Philippians 4:8 states, “finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy, think about such things.” One of the easiest and most practical verses. When we go to our word, we often are seeking solutions when the answers are displayed plainly for us to read. Which is the reason why we should continue to read our word regularly so the passages are placed deeply in our hearts.  

1. Isaiah 41:10

Our favorite verse by far! What sounds better than the reassuring Word of the Father’s love for us? When we are too overwhelmed to hear what God is saying to us in the storm, we need others to step in and remind us. The Lord directs us on what we should not be doing in our lives, “so do not fear, for I am with you,” these words should send a wave of peace over you every day. It goes on to say, “do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” As you read over this scripture, remember, don’t be discouraged if you didn’t spot your favorite verse in the list above. We couldn’t exhaust our list of favorites either.   When it comes to being inspired and going to the Word of God, these are our favorite verses to go to and use as a point of reference. Each verse is inspirational and serves as a guiding point to bring you back into the Word. Diving in a reading the word is a spiritual discipline and we as Christians need to be strengthened everyday inorder to increase and master this discipline and how we approach the world. When we read the Bible on a regular bases, we are subconsciously allowing the goodness and righteousness we are promised to flow into our hearts. It takes consistency as a believer to grow in his Word and to allow not only these verses but many more to strongarm you and shield you when the enemy is coming to steal, kill and destroy. Consistency is diving into the word on a daily basis or just simply spending a couple of minutes a day to listen to what God is trying to tell us in his word. Although life can be a challenge, it doesn’t have to be when we know who we belong to and whose we are. We are a Child of God and this cannot go unnoticed nor unappreciated.
